Reno National Air Races 2002

The week before the Reno National Air Races there is the Reno Annual Balloon Races.

A balloon design of the American Eagle American Eagle Baloon One of the ballons is that of an Eagle. Due to the needs of the ballons most start being launched at 5:30 AM and have landed by 10 AM due to the increasing winds.

Fish and Frog Balloon in the Air At Reno There are also some humorous balloon designs in the competition.

Wind is always a factor at the Reno Air Races. The Bi-planes and Forumla 1 categories always race in the morning before the 15 to 20 mph winds pick up by 4 PM in the afternoon.
