AT-6 Race 44Wayne Cartwright's AT-6 Race number 44 "Six Shooter" Wayne Cartwright's AT-6 Race number 44 "Six Shooter" flies past the start finish pylon duing a qualifying round. Each plane in every category must fly the course and record a speed above the minimum qualifying speed. Their speed places them in one of the variour heat races which in turn determines if they will fly in either the Bronze, Silver or Gold race.

P-51 Speedball Alice Race 31The P-51 named "Speedball Alice" Race 31 The P-51 named "Speedball Alice" Race 31 is gear up and on the course. Each pilot has their own style of take off concerning the timing of gear up, climb rate and initial turn past pylon 1 within the same type of aircraft.

 

Highly modified P-51 Precious Metal Race 38P-51 Precious Metal The highly modified Mustang "Precious Metal" with contra-rotating props powered by a Rolls-Royce "Griffin" engine taxis into take-off position. No stock Mustang can win the Gold Race so many owners have taken the basic Mustang airframe and made significant modifications to it, the engines or both in order to win Gold.
