A Computer Poem

I wrote this up in 2001 and submitted it to Computer Bits here in Portland Oregon - - but they never published it.

IP Woes

Oh say can you see
An IP for me
I have places to surf
And icons to click
I desperately need
That TCP/IP

I called the InterNIC
To have them move me up a tic
They called back and said
IP, V6

Oh say can you see
An IP for me
I have places to surf
And icons to click
I desperately need
That TCP/IP

I wait now at home
Watching the modem go it alone
It reapeadedly calls my ISP
To hopefully obtain a temp IP
Going 33.6
X2 Brutis?

Oh say can you see
An IP for me
I have places to surf
And icons to click
I desperately need
That TCP/IP

The ISP says NETBEUI is fooey
I must use IP to get throuhy
Win 95 says the IP is taken
CISCO says it is not it. s problem . your mistaken
The clock tics over one second
Now it. s 1900 unless I am mistaken

Oh say can you see
An IP for me
I have places to surf
And icons to click
I desperately need
That TCP/IP
